The Atelier of Via Madama is currently hosting an exhibition dedicated to Frida Kahlo, absolute icon of art and freedom.
Through the extraordinary photographs of Leo Matiz, one of the great masters of Latin American photojournalism, the exhibition invites us to discover the most authentic and intimate face of the Mexican painter.
The shots depict a proud, intense Frida, wrapped in her traditional style clothes. Tehuananot just clothes, but identity symbols and statements of strength.
Matiz's images reflect Frida's ability to transform herself into an artistic language, blending art, pain and passion into a personal and universal narrative.
The exhibition also pays tribute to the famous Casa Azul, the Coyoacán mansion that was a creative refuge and place of love with Diego Rivera.
An environment still steeped in the colours, atmosphere and soul of a woman capable of influencing generations of artists.
